Hi! I’m Maya, a designer based in Melbourne. With a focus on visual story telling through material experimentation and an interest in creative direction and brand identity.

My approach to design is concept led and process driven. I’m interested in taking abstract ideas, experiences and stories and translating them into tangible visual experiences. Through an intersection of materials, imagery and form, I explore how the physical qualities of a design can contribute to its meaning.

I’m particularly drawn to tactile and unconventional processes, using them to create work that is visually striking and emotionally evocative. My practice often sits between publication, photography, mixed media and visual storytelling, with a focus on creating work that invites curiosity and leaves an impression.

When I’m not designing, you’ll probably find me skiing, travelling, or combining the two. After graduating from RMIT, I followed my love for skiing and spent the next season working as a ski instructor in Australia and Japan. It was equal parts challenging, rewarding and a very good excuse to spend as much time as possible on the snow.

I’m currently open to freelance opportunities and looking to join a creative team where I can contribute my skills, collaborate with others and continue to grow as a designer.
